Here's my Wordle shot of the day... Thanks to Leslie!
This could be addicting!
Did a 5 miler after work yesterday and it was pathetic. I couldn't have asked for better conditions... It was in the mid 60s and nothing really hurt. But I had a hard time warming up. My body felt very stiff and heavy for the first mile or two and felt like I need to walk. (Why did it feel like I had 10 lb ankle straps on each leg?) Good thing I came to a traffic light around the second mile. It gave me some time to recooperate. The rest of the run was ok. Usually 5 miles feel like a breeze but it wasn't the case last night. At this rate, I am not expecting to PR in the Rock n Roll Half Marathon on Sunday morning... Going for another run after work today and I am hoping it will be better!
I love Wordle.
ReplyDeleteI hate when runs just dont feel good and you feel like you need to stop.
Hope tonight's run is better!
Eh, don't get down on the run and go by that for your race! sometimes we have crappy runs. I hate when that happens, but at least you trucked it out! I'm going to check out wordle, it looks like great fun!
ReplyDeletewordle?? That's interesting.
ReplyDeleteE
hey! thanks for visiting my blog. i am definitely NOT on a low carb diet. basically, if sent to a desert island where i could take one food i would probably take potatoes. i LOVE them in all forms *sigh*
ReplyDeleteyou had some killer views on that trail run! they really are brutal, aren't they?
i had the same experience last week with one beautiful run on sunday followed by a short midweek run that was like pulling teeth. don't sweat it, next one will be good again!
I love the little wordles! Very cool!
ReplyDeleteoy, I've had plenty of "those" runs. Dont' sweat it, you'll be back on track in no time ;-)
ohhhh fun wordle!
ReplyDeletei definitely know those "weighted ankle" runs... dont worry though probably just some leg tiredness from that awesome trail run you did!
Love the Wordle, but i find it interesting that my eyes were drawn to the word 'Achilles'...don't know why =P
ReplyDeleteSometimes it takes me a while to get warmed up for a run too...but most of the time it gets better by mile 3. Don't take it as a sign that you won't do well in the half.
Chances are you'll end up feeling better than ever!
I love wordle too! Except how do you make some of those words bigger than others! I swear I was at work trying to get it to switch for hours.
ReplyDeleteI know bad runs can get you down, (that sounds dirty! ha ha) but just think, tomorrow is a new day and a new run!
Wordle? I like it.
ReplyDeleteDon't beat yourself up about the run, we all have those days. Props to you for sucking it up and getting back out there today, that's big.
Sometimes a bad run is followed by an awesome one. Good luck on your HM this weekend. I can't wait to read the race report!
ReplyDeleteI used to run the 1600 and the 3200 for my high school track team. i was pretty good, but i wasn't built to be a distance runner.
ReplyDeletei think my best time in the 3200 was 10:42, but it's been quite some time.
i admire you for running though, i wish i could take it up again. i loved it.
Wordle IS addictive. And I hate runs where you feel like that - that sucks. I hope today's is better!
ReplyDelete(regarding your comment on my blog: there wasn't a watermark on any of the official images from this last weekend. I don't know why!...)
Somedays the legs don't feel like they are connected to the rest of your body. Keep pushing through.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry about it. Sometimes I have off days, but for some reason, come race day, I'm pumped up and read to go. I think it's the people, the music, the air, everything!
ReplyDeleteCool word art!
ReplyDeleteJust stumbled over here from Ramblings of a RUnning Addict.
I judge a crappy run from a good run by whether I want the light to turn red or stay green...
the wordle is SOOO ADDICTING.
ReplyDeleteIf only runner were as addicting. for me anyway :)
Im trying.
