11 Miles + Ice Box Cake

Last night's 12 miler didn't go quite has I had hoped. I didn't start running til about 8pm last night and by the time I was half way through, it was getting really really dark. By mile 10, I started to get a bit spooked. I really wanted to finish the last mile but I figured running in the dark near the hills wasn't the safest thing to do. So I skipped the last mile, which was to run around a park that was known to be a bit "shady" at night. I felt good, though I knew I could have gone longer but for my safety sake, I detoured and cut through a residential area. The funny thing is that the reason why I got started so late was because I was feeling kinda crappy after work and didn't feel like running. I had a really slow start and didn't really warm up until mile 7. But the last 3 miles felt really really good. Anyway, I'll be doing a 4-5 miler today.

My sister got a great shot of the 3 bridal shower cakes so I'm posting them again. As a matter of fact, I am craving more of this cake. I even had a soft serve ice cream cone at McDonalds after lunch at St. John's today! (The ice cream cone is supposedly only 150 calories!!)

I've had runs like that. Only difference is they usually involved sudden thunder and lightning storms. ARGH!
