I'm back into full marathon training mode. (Omg, only 7 weeks to go until Napa Valley Marathon!!) Trying to really watch what I eat and even sticking to my training schedule.
My Running Recap
Monday: 6 miles on the treadmill @ 9 min average pace
Tuesday: Rest
Wednesday: Track workout - 8 x 400. I almost died. Hadn't gone to track workout since late November. And I ran it very slow. I'm still sore!
Thursday: 8 miles in 75 degree temperature. I almost got heat stroke!! And, I had to stop and walk every mile or so. It was a rough run... I am not looking forward to summer marathon training.
Friday: Rest! Yay. Legs are sore from Wednesday's track workout!
Sataurday: 16 miles
Sunday: Maybe 6 miles?
Good luck to all those running the PF Chang's Rock n Roll AZ this Sunday!

ReplyDeleteHmmmmmm 7 on the 7th? Can I do 7 minutes? LOL
your 75* weather sounds lovely, it was -18 here today in New Hampshire. I have running a half in a few weeks and I need to start running outside again....tomorrow is going to be a high of 17 and Sunday it's going to snow.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the official training!
ReplyDelete7 weeks already! Where does the time go? And didn't you just run a marathon? lol
ReplyDeleteHope your 16-miler goes great tomorrow! Happy Weekend. :)
6 after your 16? dang, girl. well wish i could be at the meetup, hopefully next time!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the runs! The next 7 weeks will fly by!! Enjoy the weekend.
ReplyDeleteGreat week of running! Have a good time in Portland!
ReplyDeleteI am concerned about Napa. I am doing the Ironman build and it doesn't have as much running as I would normally be doing for a marathon, but hell, I already got my PR at CIM, Napa is for fun.
Ok, they are all for fun!
Let's see I woke up today and it was -12...you had 75 degree weather yesterday??? EESH!
ReplyDeleteGood luck w/the 16 tomorrow!
Where the H is this 75 degree weather? You can't be missing nyc right now, right? Good job on the training and runs!!
ReplyDelete400s always kill me. It sounds so easy on the surface doesn't it?
ReplyDelete8 miles after doing 400s? That's tough. Walking is definitely acceptable.
Love the new look! (Which you probably did awhile ago. :o)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the training. It'll be here before you know it!
Thanks for the workout details. You are doing great! We've been going to the track more lately too, but mostly for tempo/heart rate work. I'm still toying with running Napa, but now have a new injury (hip pain) to struggle with which could derail any such attempt... Are you trying to include any tempo elements in your long runs?
ReplyDeleteWant to do all or part of the Fremont Fat Ass 50K on Jan 24th as part of your long run? Supposed to be fairly flat. see http://fremontfatass50k.blogspot.com/
Cynthia
The weather was unREAL, wasn't it? I'm actually looking forward to more normal temps next week, 'cause running in that wasn't great.
ReplyDeleteVanilla is running PF Chang.
