It's been a while. I haven't been here since mid May. I needed a break. Not worry about turning on my laptop after dinner or sneaking in a blog or two (or 10) during my work hours. And strangely, it's been a nice break and freedom.
But, I definitely miss the runners and the running community... and wondering what the heck is going on with you all!
I just dropped in to say hi and tell you that I completed the following while I was away!
May 31 - RnR San Diego Marathon 4:33:44 (with the ROHOs and ran with Maritza)
June 7 - Muddy Buddy (with Audrey, soooo fun!)
June 20 - Stadium to Stadium 10k 54:22 (PR'd by 4 seconds! ;-)

Also, I got an email today from the director of Hope Runs that the 777 Challenge has been cancelled. Due to the current economic climate and fundraising issues, they have decided not to pursue the endeavor anymore. This is VERY disappointing, of course. I wasn't anywhere close to where I needed to be and have been on the verge of resigning from the team. But I was hoping to see the challenge carry out and provide exposure to the runners and the organization. They may start up again in the future but no definite plans right now. A HUGH THANKS to all of you who've supported me emotionally and financially... THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Howdy stranger! Glad you enjoyed a break. Great running while you were "away" too! I'm sorry to hear about the 777 challenge. I know that was an adventure that you were really excited about, but you can still do all kinds of cool stuff in the time you would have done that! Keep us posted on your next endevour. :)
We all need a break sometimes from blogging. Its definitely hard to keep up as I have found now with starting a new job! Too bad about the 777 challange but I am sure you will find something new and fun to do!

Sorry to hear that the 777 was cancelled. Understandable with the ongoing economic turmoil. Any money that you raised prior to the cancellation still went to a worthy cause.
I ran SF in 2005. Had a great time with my family, one of my favorite marathon memories.
That is really cool that you are a pacer. That will be a neat experience for you and I am sure you will do awesome and your runners with have a blast with you.

I just reread about the Hope 777. THat is a bummer, but I can imagine a relief for you as well... what pressure to raise that much money! I hope they donate the money to AIDS still!

Julianne! I'm glad your back- i've missed you! I'm so sorry to hear about 777- what a bummer! Sounds like SFM will be lots of fun- cant wait to hear all about it! After that training for cowtown/Chicago right? :) Can't wait for our adventure!

So sad that they cancelled Hope Runs, such a great idea and challenge but it's best I guess if they don't feel prepared for it. And I know you were struggling a bit in deciding whether to plug forward or not, so at least there is some relief in that.
